I know the Maldives are all about fish and underwater animals, but are there any mammals?

I don't think you will run in to many land mammals while on the Maldives; perhaps only the flying fox and a species of shrew or maybe some cats. But all in all the fauna is underwater and there are some mammals there though, like the dolphins for instance.
